Long ago a coworker gave me a the cutest little book called The Secrets of Joy.
The pages are covered with vibrant coloured images and splendid poems and quotes. Not all about Joy by name, but all about the things that call joy into being. It’s only about 2 inches square, but it packs a great deal into that tiny frame.
My copy opens automatically to the very last page, to which it was been propped on every book shelf I’ve had since I got the book. There it says:
May you live all the days of your life.
It’s attributed to Jonathan Swift, with whom I have been in love since first I read A Modest Proposal, but I’d have loved the quote either way.
That, to me, is ABUNDANCE: to truly live each day of your life.
