I hope you all are well, and that you came through April Fool’s Day unscathed.
This past week (year? decade?) has been an exercise in the assurance ‘God works in mysterious ways’.
Have you ever noticed how hard it is to accept when things AREN’T going wrong? When, in fact, they seem to be going in the right direction just when you need that?
Or am the only one who is far more likely to be suspicious than grateful when life takes a moment off from crisis-to-crisis?
When there is completely inexplicable GOOD to be reckoned with, in the midst of a lot of bad?
Even if I’m the only one, I think I have a pretty solid rationale – God isn’t always clear, and life isn’t always safe, and that makes for some darn reasonable skepticism. Mysterious. God’s ways are SOOOOO not my ways.
But part of this year’s search for a stronger faith is the sometimes-scary act of anticipating the GOOD along with the bad! So I am.
With fear and trembling, perhaps.
With greater-than-natural effort, perhaps.
But I am.
God’s works in mysterious ways, but for today, I’m going to be grateful, not fearful about that fact.
